070225Friday: Melbourne

Arrived on time in Melbourne, ten minutes after midnight. The airport has been swarmed by people from all Walk of Life. I have never seen a diversed group of people at one place trying to be normal after enduring an 8-hour flight. I am from Malaysia with Multi-cultural society but have never been so close to so many Sikhs. For the first time I felt the beauty in them but dare not to approach because at the same  time they look dangerous too.As usual the arrival of so many people creates chaos in so many levels. But the airport staff handled it so professionally. I was surprised as no one was yelling for not abiding to the rules. They were calm and collected amidst the chaos and potential illegal things that might slipped through the security. The bags were late but I kept looking at the carousel until the moving bags stood still and myself started to move around. When the time to pass through the custom, I was nervous but kept myself restrained. The officers flagged us through the red lane but at the end of it another officer took a look at our bulging bag and asked questions. We gave a prepared list of the things in the bag and he was so happy with that he immediately showed us the green lane. He let us through and after a few hours of gruelling tension we were out.

Hello Melbourne, here at last!At 3 am we were scrambling at the key box and let ourselves into a homestay.

The morning was breezy and misty.Colorful birds were chirping and twittering in the garden. What a beautiful sight.

Son Liam(in kopiah) brought mom and dad to take syahadah.
