Yesterday my auntie Z passed away. Her body gave up due to multiple illness. I rushed back from Nilai to Shah Alam just in time for solat jenazah. The afternoon drizzle accompanied us along the way—the sky was mourning too, I wanted to believe. It was a great loss for all of us. She has always been the center of attention wherever she might be. We adored her for her bold but sweet character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDin masukla mari minum teh ni,\u201d she would greet me whenever we dropped by to see her. I moved closer to let her see me clearly. Her vision was deteriorated lately but still can recognize people from the movement and sound. And she always recognised me. I felt remotely special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCik Z berasa guane arini?\u201d, I asked responding to her greeting. For a long time, she was in bed and unable to move without help. Whenever I was there, she would smile and happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlhamdulillah,\u201d she said. Occasional cold stare summarised her feelings. It must be difficult, but I knew she was strong and would fight for every breathe to see another day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But around 12.30 pm yesterday we lost her. Forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
