After one day in Kyrgyzstan I am struggling to cope with the cold weather and ruggedness of the land. This is supposed to be summer but the temperature lingered around 10 degrees. I shivered and my face numbed. We arrived at the border as the storm started to make havoc.In the gritty cold, we dragged the luggage out of Kazakstan post, got the clearance and off to the Kyrgyzstan side for their approval to enter. A bit hassle so the message is to travel light and bring small luggage only whenever you travel around this region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the storm just hit the area, the road up the mountain was closed so we stuck down below at the town called Karakol. Like yesterday, as the night started to fall, we were asking for accommodation from one place to another. Our guide , Jom, did all the talking and we finally found one nice place in the town. Jom was our tour guide while we were in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the cold wind blew in from the snow top mountain, we set off hoping also for the rain stop. A visit to an old mosque started our day. A strange man called azan and prayed (in a most unusual way)\u2014- well forget it let him be. I was not there to judge just curious how healthy Islam is in this remote place at the top of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
