Trip to the north tip of Okinawa—Cape Hedo

Ya rabb…. let the sun shine high and bright today. The sun hid behind a blob of cloud in a spotted blue sky, a promising good day ahead. I stepped out to the beach and explored further into the nearby high growth. The wind made it a bit chilly but with the sun started to rise , I felt at ease and calm inside which have not been in me for quite sometime. This place vibes differently and will miss it dearly when I leave in a few days. But , you know, they say everything is in your mind and use the positive vibes to make you happy whenever needed. So be it.

We are heading north today to the end of Okinawa. The road was quiet as we took Route 58, a coastal drive on the west side of Okinawa. On our left is East China Sea and on our right is the highland that constitutes Yanbaru Forest Reserve. A beautiful drive along the coast that I enjoyed very much. The memories from our road trip to Hokkaido suddenly came to mind. It was beautiful summer days of 2016 and drove from Ishikawa in West Japan to Hakodate and Sapporo in Hokkaido. On the way we camped outside a Japanese family home because it was too late to find a campsite for the night. And they welcomed us with open arms; early the next morning we packed up and continued our journey. A flash of moments that deeply engraved into our memories.

An hour later, we arrived at our destination. Okinawa is a small island and the journey from town to town would take an hour or so.
