Day 6.1: Cardiff

View from our bedroom window in Cardiff

Woke up to the wet , windy and cold morning in Cardiff. Nice to experience the perfect weather of the UK. The room was warm and cozy as I finally found how to switch on the central heater. Living with cold weather must be expensive to warm up the house and water. I just could not imagine how these folks manage it. Not everyone is rich and capable to pay the bill. Last time when we were here the gas company often made an offer to discount the bill. Once we were cheated out of this offer by our landlord as it went to the owner of the house and not us. When asked ,the Paki gave me all sort of shit reasons and claimed he has every right to collect the money. It was our first winter here.

The City Hall

We stopped by the town center for some photos. Many Malaysians used to study here; maybe there are still some Malaysians here but didn’t see any glimpse of them around here.

We stayed on the top floor.

Our homestay here was a unit on top of a corner shop. Finding it was very tricky because the access was at the back of the shop with a narrow stairs leading to the roof. I never expected a door of a flat to be there. The guy came around and showed us the door ; it was there at the end of the roof. My hearts were in dismay because this could not go down very well. I was wrong. It turned out the unit was a spacious two bedrooms flat with big kitchen and a wc. Good facilities, big TV, nice sofas and double beds. An excellent place to rest for the night.
