Nicely situated in the mountains in between Spain and France is this little state called Andorra. Since tge beginning of time it had been a place of refuge; a safe haven for people from both sides of the mountains. The history narrated that it was governed by the royal families from Spain and France. When both sides declared their borders; they left out Andorra. No one claimed theirs and when Andorra decided to be a sovereign state to be recognised by the UN both Spain and France agreed. Under one condition though, their interests in Andorra remain. So up until today this tiny country has two head of state; one from each France and Spain.

Being there, was like being in a fairy tale little place. After a long winding road from Barcelona, we arrived at an oasis up in a mountain with countless roundabout and high mighty rocky mountains on the sides. The weather was here nice even as we were in this late summer . The city was nicely decorated and designed to accommodate people, cars and buses. A stream from the mountains runs through the city which makes it so nice and beautiful.
We spent the night higher up on the edge of the mountain overlooking the city. Unbelievably stunning views of the city and its surrounding hills. How they managed the winding streets is unimaginable. Heavy machinery with huge transportation vehicles still seemed to operate as usual; not to mention the tourist buses that came in droves.

Later we drove on to Sitges, a beach town nearer to Barcelona.
