Nimes

Nimes is about two hours away from Carcassonne. We drove away after breakfast; eating whatever left from yesterday. The sun was bright but the cool breeze still nipped my cheeks. We left a comfortable apartment with clean kitchen and spotless bathroom. French people take cleanliness and hygiene seriously.

Arenes : Arena still in use today

We arrived in Nimes late Sunday afternoon when everyone was out enjoying the beautiful autumn sunshine. The roads were busy with cars and bicycles. We went round and around trying to find this apartment tucked inside the high walls and steel gates . Finally, as the gate opened we were greeted by spacious courtyard big enough to fill in a few cars. There was a stairs. leading to the apartment .It has three bedrooms with plenty of space for everybody.

After a quick luncheon we headed out to explore the city. My head still pounding and my balance was terribly compromised. But I forced myself to join them. The walk seemed long and uneventful as this area is a residential neighbourhood no interesting view to appreciate.
